2015 Monmouthshire Business Awards
The 2015 Monmouthshire Business Awards were presented on Friday night at a black tie dinner at the Celtic Manor Resort attended by almost 400 guests, including promising young entrepreneurs from local schools.
23 companies, including start-ups, sole traders and larger organisations, were shortlisted for honours with nine awards up for grabs for demonstrating 'innovation, talent and enterprise' in the wider local community.
Veterinary business Gardner Llewelyn Group won Responsible Business while Green and Jenks ice cream parlour in Monmouth was awarded the Excellence in Retail award.
Excellence in Technology Innovation was awarded to Spectrum Internet, Excellence in Marketing went to That Media Group, and Hospitality, and Travel and Tourism was awarded to Monmouthshire Cottages – all of which are Chepstow-based firms.
It was a very successful evening for another Chepstow business, Write From The Heart, who took home both Most Promising Start Up and Young Entrepreneur.
Monmouth’s Total Metal Products won Company Demonstrating Sustained Growth, while the Abergavenny-based Green Waste Company won Best Green Business.
The Company of the Year title went to Chepstow-based firm Reid Lifting, who also won the prestigious Judge’s Choice Award, which is presented to one of the shortlisted finalists deemed to be the best overall entrant.
Guests at the event included Edwina Hart, Minister for Economy, Science & Transport, Welsh Government, Monmouth MP David Davies, Nick Ramsay AM, High Sheriff of Gwent Andrew Tuggey, Bob Greenland, deputy leader at Monmouthshire County Council, Paul Matthews, chief executive of MCC, Peter Fox, leader at MCC, and Dylan Matthews, of the Celtic Manor Resort.
