Match Funding for Fabulously Festive Fayre
Yesterday saw the return of the ever popular St David’s Hospice Christmas Fayre that takes place at St Pierre Marriott Hotel & Country Club. The venue was bursting at the seams with all types of stalls including arts and crafts, homemade cakes, original gift ideas, jewellery and refreshments.
The hotel looked beautifully festive, with traditional Christmas decorations surrounding wood burning stoves. The smell of mulled wine hung in the air as choirs sang the time-honoured carols that we all know and love. The organisers certainly pulled out all the stops to ensure a really successful day and it was impossible not to get caught up in the spirit of things.
Over £7,000 was raised for the hospice, which included match funding of £1,500 from Basepoint’s parent company The ACT Foundation.
Chloe Geoghegan, Assistant Centre Manager at Basepoint Chepstow, said “We’ve had such a great day at St Pierre and have been delighted to see the enormous turn-out of attendees despite the weather. We are very proud to support such a fantastic event and are delighted to hear that a substantial sum of money has been raised for St David’s Hospice Care”.
