Severn Bridge Half Marathon Bigger Than Ever
A mammoth field of 2,400 racers are due to take part in the Basepoint Supported 2016 Severn Bridge Half Marathon.
The Severn Bridge Half Marathon returns after two very successful and highly acclaimed events in 2014 and 2015. The race was voted Best New Race in the Runners World Personal Best awards. This year is the 50th anniversary of the bridge opening in 1966 so expect a big party!
The route suits both first timers and experienced club runners - it provides something a bit different from your average 'run-of-the-mill' city half marathon: stunning views, sea air, scenic country lanes and villages and the opportunity to participate in a unique running event on a closed motorway and across the iconic Severn Bridge.
Basepoint Chepstow will be supporting the event for the third year in a row, Centre Manager Ian Mitchell commented 'We are delighted to be involved with such a prestigious event in the national running calendar and wish Paul and Andy all the very best for what I am sure will be another excellent race.'
