Basepoint Swindon presents cheque for over £3,000 to The MS Therapy Centre

Swindon

Basepoint Swindon recently presented a cheque for £3040.56 to The MS Therapy Centre, its chosen charity. In acknowledgement of Basepoint’s support, the charity will be unveiling a plaque renaming their coffee area the Basepoint Lounge.

The MS Therapy Centres provide therapy and support to those affected by Multiple Sclerosis, a long term disease that affects the central nervous system (CNS). The charity’s Swindon centre receives around 100 people for therapies every week, and has, over the last year, provided 5,800 therapies to people with MS and other neurological conditions.
Lyn Chapman, Centre Manager at Basepoint Swindon, comments: “Since Basepoint’s initial contribution in 2009, the MS centre has flourished brilliantly. We are now in our fourth year of partnership with the charity, so far having raised over £35,000 for them. Since the charity’s move to Bradbury House in January 2010, they have been able to offer extra services such as Yoga, tai chi and counselling.”
Laura Wilson, a Community Fundraiser for The MS Therapy Centre, comments: “We are truly grateful for Basepoint’s support. Without their help it would not have been possible to offer any of the extra services we now provide and we all felt that we wanted to show our appreciation for all the support they have shown us, by naming our coffee area The Basepoint Lounge”
Basepoint Business Centres, who specialise in the development and operation of flexible business, innovation and enterprise centres, is owned by The ACT Foundation, a leading UK grant-making charity, dedicated to improving the quality of life of those in need. As such, each centre is dedicated to fundraising for a selected charity and The ACT Foundation match funds any money raised for the chosen charity, up to the value of £10,000 per centre.
