Basepoint Winchester presents cheque to Winchester Young Carers for £5318.00
Basepoint Winchester recently presented a cheque for £5318.00 to Winchester Young Carers. This total was raised through a Disco Inferno event and a lecture on ‘Letters from the Crimea’. Ben Hogbin, Manager of Winchester Young Carers charity, comments on the Disco Inferno: “ our successful black tie and dinner/dance was attended by around 80 people who wore different wigs and masks – an enjoyable night was had by all!”
Basepoint Business Centres, who specialise in the development and operation of flexible business, innovation and enterprise centres, is owned by The ACT Foundation, a leading UK grant-making charity, dedicated to improving the quality of life of those in need. As such, each centre is dedicated to fundraising for a selected charity and The ACT Foundation match funds any money raised for the chosen charity, up to the value of £10,000 per centre.
In April last year, Basepoint Winchester selected Winchester Young Carers as its chosen charity, and will continue to support the charity match funding any money raised up to a value of £10,000 for this calendar year, from April 2013 – April 2014. Claire Owen, Centre Manager at Basepoint Winchester, adds: “We are delighted to have reached our match-fund amount of £10 000 over the course of last year, and we look forward to collaborating with Winchester Young Carers for another year of fundraising initiatives”.
