Sky High Donation

Gosport

Kerry Loughrey, the Assistant Manager at Gosport Business Centre presents a cheque to The Rainbow Centre for Conductive Education in Fareham after completing a tandem freefall skydive in August.

Kerry collected £1,103.12 in personal sponsorship and The ACT Foundation, the parent company of Basepoint Centres Ltd for whom Kerry works, match funded it to enable her to hand over £2,206.24 during the Rainbow Fete held at The Bradbury Building on Saturday 25th September. The cheque was graciously accepted by Helen Somerset-Howe MBE, one of the founders of The Rainbow Centre and Julie Woodward, the community and fundraising manager. Julie said, “Before Kerry jumped she told me she is scared of heights and also of flying. We cannot thank her enough for her sheer determination to go ahead with something that she really didn’t want to do in order to raise money for us. She may not have overcome all her fears but she has certainly raised a substantial amount of money which will help our children to overcome some of their problems”.
