Basepoint present £1,000 to Henstridge Riding Disability Association
Basepoint recently donated a cheque for £1,000 to the Henstridge Riding Disability Association (Henstridge RDA) to help increase much needed funds which have been raised through a wide range of events, including open days and competitions.
Henstridge RDA, which is based in Somerset, provides horses and ponies for therapy and enjoyment to people with learning difficulties and disabilities. More than 30 disabled riders attend every week with ages ranging from three to eighty. Volunteer groups organise activities such as riding and carriage driving, which are proven to help improve co-ordination, communication and strengthen muscles.
Caroline Kendall, Regional Manager and Vicky Foot, Centre Manager recently visited the Henstridge RDA to present the cheque. Caroline comments: “We were given an excellent opportunity to meet some of the people and learn about the activities they take part in. It was evident during our visit that the volunteers are very passionate about what they do and it was a pleasure to be able to present them with a cheque on behalf of the Company.”
Tessa Woodhouse, from Henstridge RDA, said “We were delighted to receive this cheque; the money will go a long way to help the people who come to us.”
