Walking the Test Way for the Rainbow Centre

Gosport

The thought of going for a little stroll in the beautiful Hampshire countryside will appeal to a lot of people and that is what Andrew Weston, the centre manager of Gosport Business Centre has decided to do, all in the name of charity.

There is a little twist however, the ‘stroll’ he has agreed to is along the Test Way, which stretches 45 miles from Inkpen Beacon in the north to the town of Totton, in the south. The route was originally used by sailors arriving in Southampton as a transit route to the Midlands, so as he is ex RN he will be treading in the footsteps of some ‘old salts’. On Sunday 10th October, he will be joining hundreds of other walkers in the Rotary Club of Romsey organised event whilst raising funds for his chosen charity; The Rainbow Centre in Fareham. Andrew said, “I’ve been doing a lot of cycling this year but this walk is going to be just as big a challenge, especially as the weather can change very quickly that time of year. Whilst I haven’t set myself a monetary target, every penny I can raise will go to a fabulous organisation that changes lives. He has set up a Just Giving fundraising page where donations can be made at: www.justgiving.com/Andrew-Weston-Basepoint
