Basepoint exhibit at the annual Romsey Show

Romsey

TENS of thousands of visitors flocked to Romsey for the town’s annual show. This year’s Romsey Agricultural and Horse Show honoured those who gave their lives in the Battle of Britain. Among the highlights were a flypast of historic aircraft and displays to mark the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, and the Chariots of Fire carriage driving team. Hundreds of horses, cattle and sheep competed for prizes and a place in the ever-popular grand parade, alongside show jumping and displays of goats organised by the Hampshire Goat Society. Trade stands sold out early at Saturday’s event at Broadlands.

Show secretary Annie Carder said: “Numbers were a little down at first in the morning but it picked up later when the sun came out and was lovely in the afternoon.” Basepoint offered a free Champagne Prize Draw, free sweets and free water for passing animals in the Basepoint Dog Bowl. We had a lot of visitors to the stand and educated everyone on Basepoint’s flexible licence agreements, community spirit, offices, workshops and meeting room facilities. One young man proudly took home details and a brochure to his dad, who was in need of an office, or so he had over heard.
