£175 raised for Macmillan Cancer Care

Newhaven

Newhaven Enterprise Centre’s management team, licensees and local people came together to enjoy coffee, cakes and a little networking and to raise money for a good cause at the same time. Friday 24th September saw over thirty people enjoying coffee and home made cakes at the Centre and between them £175 was raised in support of Macmillan Cancer Care’s local appeal to raise £3.7m to build the Sussex Macmillan Cancer Support Centre.

Once up and running it will enable everyone in Sussex affected by cancer to find the support they need, when they need it. “We need the people of Sussex to really get behind the appeal … It’s a challenge but I'm confident we can build this fantastic facility for cancer patients and their families, friends and carers. “ Rob Moon, Area Fundraising Manager for Macmillan in Sussex said. A coffee based quiz was won by Lara Groome of Printhaven who had a truly impressive knowledge of coffee and its history. Second was Helen Macaulay of Helen Macaulay Bookkeeper who also scored highly.
