Basepoint Swindon Donate £2500 to The MS Therapy Centre

Swindon

As a part of this year’s match funding support, Lyn Chapman Centre Manager at Basepoint Swindon presented the Swindon MS Therapy Centre with another cheque for £2,500. This is the third subsequent year that Basepoint have supported the MS Therapy Centre, with this donation bringing the total to £25,000 with another £5,000 to be donated before the end of this financial year.

Centre Manager Lyn expressed her delight in supporting the charity for the third year running" The MS Therapy Centre do a fantastic job for those they help, we are thrilled to be able to donate the money to such great cause and an incredibly dedicated team of people". The therapy centre offers MS sufferers the opportunity to receive relief from the symptoms of the neurological condition using oxygen under pressure, as well as physiotherapy and complementary therapies from trained practitioners. The chance to meet others with MS at the centre is also very important for the wellbeing of the users. Therapy centre manager Jackie Wray said “Basepoint’s continued support is a very important contribution to the centre’s running costs. It costs over £120,000 annually to sustain the centre for our members. We do not receive any government support and have always relied on donations, grants and fundraising. The support that Basepoint is providing is amazingly helpful in keeping our service running." The cheque was presented during a networking meeting for The Women’s Business Club, and many members of the group made personal donations to the MS Therapy Centre on the day.
