Charity Fun Day
On Thursday 29th September Basepoint Camberley held a charity Fun day to raise money to buy a defibrillator for the Centre. During the whole of September the Camberley team and licensees have been running different charity events to raise money.
This was instigated by one of the licensees who suffered a heart attack earlier this year; Peter Hoare from Alder Wills (who is perfectly fine now!), and with the busy lives that we all lead these days, we thought it a good idea to get a defibrillator for the centre.
So during the month we held fruit sales on Mondays, offered a lunch-time bootcamp on Thursdays and had cake sales each Friday.
On Thursday 29th September, which is World Heart Day and also Peter's birthday (how fitting), we held a Licensee Fun Day. Throughout the day we had spacehopper races, a hula hoop competition and also a human hungry hippo game. There was also a raffle and a "Guess the number of sweets" competition.
Zoe, an employee of Starkwood Media, won the spacehopper race with a time of 7.81seconds for the length of half the corridor. And Sue from Cornerstone Wills won the hula hoop contest, by keeping the hoop rotating for 4mins 58sec, closely followed by Avril from Sentios Technologies, who was able to hula hoop for 4mins 30sec.
All in all, the day was a great success and we have already had licensees asking for more cake sales and bootcamps.
In total throughout the month we raised over £600 to go towards the defibrillator.
Still a bit to go, but we would like to thank everyone who has taken part and donated their time and money.
