LUTON BEST AWARDS 2016

The management team are pleased to announce the winner of their sponsored award at the Luton Best Awards 2016. The awards were held on Friday 2nd December at Luton Hoo's Warren Weir estate.

Basepoint Luton sponsored the 'Best Fundraiser' award which was won by Chris Curtis from Youthscape.

Chris has raised £3.2 million to transform a small Luton based community organisation into a national youth charity.  THe campaign ran from 2013 - 2016 and focussed on the purchase and renovation of Bute Mills, an Edwardian steam mill in the centre of Luton, into a state of the art youth centre and training facility.

Since arriving in Luton as Youthscape's first school working in 1993, Chris has grown the organisation into a hub of excellence for youth work, with 25 staff and an annual turnover of £800,000.  He has driven the fundraising campaign for Bute Mills, showing deep personal commitment to the project and an ability to inspire others
