The Mayor of Swindon Opens New Offices At Basepoint

The Mayor of Swindon councillor David Wren and South Swindon MP Anne Snelgrove officially opened the new offices used by Learning for Life at Basepoint Business Centre Swindon on 20th November 2009. The organisation is possibly the only one in the country which provides training, education and personal development opportunities for adults with a range of disabilities, whether it is physical or social anxiety, depression, self harm or the results of abuse. Each person's needs are identified and then addressed in an holistic and friendly atmosphere. The charity can then create an individual programme to suit them, giving them the skills to develop and move on. Anne Snelgrove said " Learning for Life is a revelation both in its location at Basepoint, and the passion tutors and learners have about progressing and achieving the best they possible can."

Key Handover

The key handover ceremony officially launched the Canterbury Innovation Centre opened for business status. The ceremony was attended by representatives from all Partners involved in the development, funding and management of the centre including Cllr John Gilbey, Chair of East Kent Spatial Development Company and Leader of Canterbury City Council, Pam Alexander, Chief Executive of SEEDA, Professor Julia Goodfellow and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kent.
