Andrew Weston presents Julie Woodward with a cheque for £542.82 as Basepoint and ACT’s match funding commitment continues. The Rainbow Centre, based in Fareham, recently held a fundraising Burns Night Supper where the haggis was piped in, a few drams of whiskey were downed to the words of Rabbie Burns and everyone had the opportunity to work off some of the fine fare by trying their hand at Highland Dancing.
As part of Fairtrade Fortnight (22 Feb – 7 Mar) Gosport Business Centre held a Networking Coffee Morning where all the products were certified Fairtrade. Coffee, Tea, Sugar, Hot Chocolate, Orange Juice and Wines were all available to those that attended as well as biscuits, cakes and even body care products; all sourced from local high street shops such as Boots, M&S, ASDA and LIDL. Gosport Fairtrade Action Group provided an information stand and leaflets which everyone found very informative and interesting. Many of those that attended were pleasantly surprised at how much was available, the quality of it and the fact that it cost no more than their usual brands with several saying they were thinking of swapping brands.
Five dedicated runners will be taking part in this years London Marathon, raising funds for The Rainbow Centre in Fareham wearing shirts provided by Gosport Business Centre. The London Marathon needs no introduction but five dedicated and brave runners have decided to pound the streets to raise much needed funds for The Rainbow Centre which helps children who suffer from Cerebral Palsy as well as their families.
