Local businesses that attended Newhaven Enterprise Centre’s recent ‘Networking Hub’ benefited from expert advice on changing employment laws and pensions schemes, which are due to come into effect in the foreseeable future.
Basepoint Bournemouth was delighted to host an informal reception at the Centre recently for Natwest Business Banking’s Women in Business networking event. The Event coincided with the recent ‘International Women’s Day,’ and this was an ideal opportunity for the ladies to network with other local business women in an informal environment over coffee as well as delicious pastries and savouries courtesy of Tuckton business ‘Mocha Turtle’.
Local businesses which recently attended the Networking Hub at The Joiners Shop, Chatham, were taken by surprise with an avant-garde approach to the traditional concept of networking. The Basepoint operated business centres – The Old Rectory in Northfleet and The Joiners Shop in Chatham, pushed the boundaries by merging music and business to open the event, setting a precedent for what was to follow.
Carly Thompson, centre manager at Basepoint Bournemouth, recently presented a cheque for £8,041.60, to local charity, Diverse Abilities Plus, amounting to a grand total of £10,000 over the year. The money raised came from various fundraising activities and projects, most recently from the charity’s Scrumptious Home Baking recipe book, which was sold at various outlets in around Bournemouth including Basepoint.
Offering apprenticeships can support the economic growth for local business communities and also increase the opportunities for young people, according to Paul Lamacraft, from HIT Training, the latest speaker at Basepoint Romsey’s networking event.
