Local businesses that attended Basepoint Folkestone’s latest “Networking Hub” learnt about the benefits of apprenticeships along with how to use social media for business.
Event speakers were Kelly Huntington from K College, who advised that hiring apprentices could be one way in which small companies can help themselves whilst helping others. Kelly highlighted apprenticeships to be a preferred recruitment method for trainee staff, due to providing an immediate personal development programme with guided learning and support from the training provider, taking the pressure off business owners to teach.
To celebrate the arrival of summer and the Olympics, Basepoint Weymouth is inviting local businesses to ditch their suits and don their seaside attire for a beach themed Networking Hub, taking place on Weymouth beach on Monday 2nd July from 5pm – 8pm.
On Sunday 16th June, Centre Manager, Lyn Chapman and her assistant Becca Halliday walked 20 miles along the Ridgeway path in support of their chosen charity the Swindon MS Therapy Centre.

The patriotic themed event continued to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee and the much anticipated Olympics, serving a traditional fish and chip lunch for free.
