"We only went and did it...!!"
...were the words exclaimed by Basepoint Licensee Andy Hosking as he came bounding (limping) into the Chepstow Centre after the Bank Holiday weekend.
Andy was referring to the 100km London to Brighton walk he completed on Sunday in aid of Cancer Research UK. Having suffered from cancer himself, in 2010, Andy made the decision to raise money and awareness for the cause after his Mum was also diagnosed with the disease earlier this year.
Andy left Deer Park in Richmond on Saturday morning at 09:40 and eventually finished at Brighton Racecourse at 09:13 on Sunday, 23 hours 33 minutes later.
Andy explained, "It was an amazing feeling and an emotional end to the walk, meeting my wife, daughter, mum and dad at the finish."
He added, "There were many highs and lows en-route, many blisters, many aching limbs, but we got there. Your support has made this possible, pushed me to finish. Thank you"
Andy has raised an astounding £5,499, including donations and sponsorship from Basepoint and from many of our Licensees.
Congratulations Andy, your grit and determination in an inspiration to us all!
