Moon Walking in the Brecon Beacons
Basepoint Chepstow are delighted to be supporting an incredible upcoming fundraising event, to raise funds for their chosen charity, St David's Hospice Care. The "Moon Walk" is a hugely exciting challenge which gives fundraisers the chance to climb Pen y Fan, the highest point in the Brecon Beacons, by the light of the moon!
Basepoint is owned by The ACT Foundation, a leading UK grant making charity, which means that 100% of our profit goes to charity. Each centre is dedicated to fundraising for a selected local charity and The ACT Foundation match funds money raised, up to a maximum of £10,000. The Chepstow centre’s chosen charity is St David's Foundation Hospice Care, who provide a free and comprehensive palliative care service throughout Monmouthshire and beyond.
This is the second year that The Moon Walk has been organised. Last year nearly 350 people climbed to the summit and this year the charity hope to beat this figure. This year’s event has proved to be incredibly popular - it practically went viral when it was announced online, and sold out fast.
Basepoint Chepstow have pledged £2,000 in match funding for this event, which is planned for Saturday 22nd July.
Fundraisers will start climbing Pen y Fan between 8.30pm and 9pm with the aim to arrive at the summit at around midnight. A truly exhilarating experience which will also help to raise vital funds for an outstanding charity.
