Pob lwc Cymru! ~ Good Luck Wales!
As the only Basepoint centre in Wales, everybody here is terribly excited by the Welsh team’s incredible Euro 2016 performance so far and we’re feeling hopes rise before tonight’s Euro 2016 semi-final against Portugal.
The team’s run has been great for business right across Wales. Pubs, bars and clubs have seen profits surge and the Welsh government is delighted at the profile the competition has given the country.
Tattoo parlours have been rushed off their feet and Welsh language books have been flying off the shelves since Wales began to do well in the competition.
It’s been reported that analysts at the National Grid expect a 500 megawatt surge at half-time tonight, the equivalent of 200,000 kettles being switched on at once.
Everybody here in the border town of Chepstow is right behind the Welsh team, be they Welsh or English (or any other nationality come to that…except, perhaps, Portuguese).
We’ve had the red dragon of Wales proudly displayed in our Reception since the beginning of the tournament and resident football fans have taken to touching it for luck. Today, of course, has been no exception and everybody has been tapping our lucky flag as they pass through.
All that’s left to say is pob lwc Cymru! Win or lose tonight you’ve done your nation proud.
