Licensees and local businesses continue to benefit from Basepoint Camberley’s Networking Hub, the latest of which included a talk from Peter Bewsey, of Executive Help Ltd, on how businesses can achieve their goals.
Lyn Chapman, Centre Manager at Basepoint Swindon was the VIP guest of Swindon’s ice hockey team, the Swindon Wildcats at their match against the Manchester Phoenix recently. Basepoint's sponsored player Nicky Watt, glided over the ice to the red carpet and then proceeded to remove the shirt from his back and gallantly presented it to Lyn. Lyn commented “It was a really fun evening with a very fast paced game, and the icing on the cake was that the Swindon Wildcats won. I didn’t expect to be presented with Nicky’s shirt which was a real surprise, unfortunately, I now have to wash it!”
In an effort to raise money for Sport Relief, Basepoint Folkestone organised a sponsored spinning session at the centre, raising over £700 for the charity. Centre Manager, Lorraine May, was joined by four other licensees who took up the challenge to spin for the duration of 50 minutes. The sporting hero was licensee, Joy Gross, who at 81, was the oldest spinner, but by no means the least fit as she managed to ‘out spin’ Lorraine who had to take a break and regain her energy.
Basepoint Bournemouth and their clients were delighted to be able to support ‘Sport Relief’ on Friday 23rd March 2012. Rosemary Jones (Assistant Manager) mapped out a route of the Business Centre for clients to get involved and do their bit by walking the route – with the prize being a medal for their efforts, and of course the opportunity to buy coffee and cakes! The Bournemouth Centre clients, visitors, and Delivery Drivers helped to chip in to raise £171.00 for Sport Relief.
Systems Test Solutions (STS), a Swindon based telecoms company who are based at Basepoint Business Centre, Rivermead Drive, West Swindon, held a bazaar on Friday 23 March to raise money for Help Age India and Lights for Learning. North Swindon Member of Parliament Justin Tomlinson popped in to meet STS staff, Lights of Learning inventor Roger Mugridge as well as Basepoint staff and licensees. There was a unique collection of items made by crafts people in India - from intricately carved wooden iPhone holders complete with an individual piece of art, to handmade bound writers’ journals, thoughtful quotes etched on glass and beautifully made jewellery. The clever cooks from STS also sold a selection of mouthwatering cakes and Indian snacks. Help Age India was set up in 1978 and now operates in 22 states, raising resources to protect the rights of India’s elderly and provide relief to them through various interventions. They reach out to over 1.5 million elders through its services and have provided well over one million treatments.
